Tom Green Twitter Controversy: Radio Hosts continue to Cyberbully!

CNET News has followed up on the story that I wrote about a week ago on the Tom Green Comedian and Professor Tom Green Twitter account fiasco.  Here is my post. a-series-of-unfortunate-slanderous-events

Read the link below and look at the comments of their listeners.  Professor Green’s reputation is on the line and they feel it is appropriate to slander him once again. When Comedian Tom Green was asked if radio hosts urged their listeners to tweet Professor Green he said “I’m good friends with the Opie & Anthony show. The fact of the matter is, there’s a lot of people in the world now who enjoy negative shock tactics….I think there’s a freedom thing on the Internet. You can’t tell listeners or viewers not to be creative if they go into places that are horrifying and wrong….I don’t think they were encouraging [listeners] to be as negative as it was.”  Please, when you listen to the show you hear Opie & Anthony laughing and reading the disgusting tweets on the air and encouraging comments.  To them it means more listeners and more popularity.

After doing some investigation of this Opie & Anthony Show it came to my attention that these hosts have been sanctioned and given a one month suspension after a guest described his rape fantasies on their daily show in June of 2007.  This is typical of shock radio .  people-xmsatellite-opieanthony-dc-idUSN1147054620070612

Professor Green deserves an apology from the Radio Station, the hosts and the Comedian Tom Green.  When will this madness end?  When we make a conscious effort to turn these stations OFF and support the people that have been slandered.

Two quotes by Edmund Burke come to mind when learning of situations like this. “A very great part of the mischiefs that vex the world arises from words.” and “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”
